COVID-19 Update November 20, 2020: As the holidays approach, it is important to remember that we are still in the middle of a pandemic and have responsibilities to our clients as healthcare providers to minimize our risk. The safest thing to do right now is to make any holiday gathering a virtual or online event. Gatherings in person come with increased risk of infection. Traveling may increase your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19. Postponing travel and staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others this year. Travel to certain high risk areas will require a 14-day quarantine after your return. During gatherings, keep them small, keep 6 feet away from people who do not live with you, wear a mask with two or more layers over your nose and mouth and secure it under your chin. Make sure the mask fits snugly against the sides of your face. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use hand sanitizer when unable to wash your hands. Food should not be served potluck style, and anyone serving or handling food should do so safely. It is important to be mindful of these things when planning for our holidays to keep them as safe as possible. All of us at HMI wish you a safe and joyful holiday season!
